2 from CAF, AFC, CONCACAF (Top 2 from their respective Champions Leagues’)
1 from OFC (Champion)
A 17th team could be the domestic champion of the host nation, which the winner would enter as the 16th spot in the knockout. Like First Four in March Madness.
2) Every 4 years have a 3-week 24 team tournament consisting of every champion from all 6 confederations from the past 4 years and have a group stage for every confederation. The 6 winner advance to the knockout, as well as a 2nd team from UEFA and COMNEBOL (8-team tournament).
What i would do: every 2 years, 1 month long, 8 UEFA, 8 COMMEBOL (now, or you get the best 4 clubs from current and the past edition of Champions and Libertadores, or the best 2 from Champions, best 2 of Europa League, 2 from Libertadores and 2 from Sulamericana) + 4 clubs from each other continents. So 32 in total. Then, the format goes like the current WC, with 8 groups of 4 + knockouts
